Blood Moon Teaquila
Let the Tq Time Machine take you back to the "Jewel of the Desert", the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa, circa the late 1930's or early 1940's. Known far and wide for the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired architecture that permeates the resort, you are here to witness the birth of a legend.
You're ensconced in a comfortable chair on the outdoor Squaw Peak Terrace of the Wright Bar. As the morning sun rises in the East, a frequent guest to the Biltmore occupying the table next to you asks bartender Gene Sulit to 'surprise me with a refreshing drink to enjoy poolside'. Knowing the guest to be an avid tequila fancier, bartender Sulit conjures up the Tequila Sunrise, the inspiration for our Teaquila Blood Moon.
"Teaquila Blood Moon" -- a perfect cocktail for swooning summer nights. [Pictured here with a beautiful and fragrant Night Blooming Cereus]
Legendary -- The blood moon, the hunter's moon, the sanguine moon, nearest the autumnal equinox. This is the first full moon after the harvest moon. The "Teaquila Blood Moon" is a drink for all those dark and sultry nights of the year when the moon beats out its path across the sky. Mix one up to light up your sky tonight!
Place 1-1/2 oz. Jose Cuervo Tequila in a large round stem wine glass.
Gently pour in 8 oz. Simply Orange brand orange juice.
Set a small vertical strainer set inside a teacup and add 2 tbsp Bonne Maman Raspberry Preserves and 1 tsp Mio Liquid Sweet Tea Vitamin/Mineral Water Enhancer.
Muddle for 3 minutes until around 1 tbsp of liquid is strained.
Muddling is crushing with a blunt object, called a muddler. A pestle will also work nicely.
Add to wine glass and stir with glass stirrer.
Add 6 ice cubes along with any additional orange juice to taste.
Now HOWL at the Moon!!!!!!!
